However saying he has done it at this level is not really a good argument for saying he is a good signing.
Mark Vaduka has also done it at this level - he would be a poor signing too, even as a cheap back up.
I think it is fair enough if people want to argue that we'd be better off in their opinion by a youth player being given the chances Jelavic has. I can see the sense in that argument.

Jelavic has looked poor in all the chances he has been given - however limited they have been.

I'm really not sure why Jelavic is coming in for all this slagging off.
He was brought in as a back up striker and hasn't had a real chance, he's scored goals and this level and if he plays then I hope he takes his chance.

Valencia has basically been out all season so I expect it to be Jelavic.

Logic and one's eyes suggest that Jelavic is a lost cause but without more game time or a run of games to get fully match fit we will never truly know if he is a lost cause. I mean even Carroll has improved a bit as he has played. Problem is how can you let him have the game time to get fit where he will be off the pace and yet another West Ham forward unable to score.

Can see Jelavic starting though, for some reason...
We need pace up-top though so if Valencia isn't fit enough to start then either Zarate or Antonio should be pushed further forward...
